The conditions of employment at the UTS are determined by various laws, collective agreements, common law and university police, practice and statutes. The industrial conditions for EMPLOYMENT of UTS staff are mandatory: full-time university staff pay rates are provided for in Schedule 1 of the proposed new agreement The University of New South Wales (Academic Staff) Agreement 2018 and as shown in the tables below. Paid if the lecturer assumes an essential responsibility in the design and development of a unit of a large part of the unit as well as courses or when a conference or a small group of conferences requires special expertise; 1.c (PAY LECT STD) Paid for identification requiring a meaningful exercise of appropriate academic judgment for a Level B staff member or as a Prudential Controller.4.b (PAY MARK STD) Paid to a respected person for a single conference for each small group of courses; or if a course includes 4 hours of work. 1.b (PAY LECT GIS) Paid for a “rehearsal course” that covers the subject of a course that is given to another group of students within 7 days. Minimum payment for a worker with a PhD or phD; implementing “full-fledged measures for the coordination of themes”; or is required to prepare and organize regular courses; or for the development of materials. “Full coordination” is the case where a person is solely responsible for the permanent organization of the teaching of a subject or when a person working with others in one subject is personally responsible for the permanent organization of the work of one or more other workers.
